Thanks to the sponsorship of Billet Technology the RMBJJ / Jupiter Jiu Jitsu Competition Team has grown to over 15 combatants! The next challenge for the team will be August 6th in Kissimmee, FL at the FFBJJ State Championship. The team has been training smart and this week will be focused on making their minds sharp for competition.

                Blue Belt PROMOTION! GOLD! at WORLD’S! Christopher Escamilla has arrived! Recently graduating Park Vista High Chris was looking for a way to keep his wrestling and martial arts game sharp. Rodrigo Mendes Black Belt Tim Bruce showed him that way was Jiu Jitsu. After a few months training Chris was able to deliver a GOLD caliber performance in the ULTRA HEAVY division at WORLD’S in Long Beach CA. The “pure awesomeness” displayed by Chris earned him the honor of receiving his Blue Blet from Professor Rodrigo Mendes on the podium June 2nd 2011. Ossss  

           April 2nd 2011 the Riverwalk Events Plaza went off as the second Jupiter Jiu Jitsu Championship exploded with amazing fight action. The excitement started early with the kids divisions, these little guys were awesome to watch providing early crowd energy as they showed their skills and courage. Following the kids the teens division kept the venue rocking making their instructors proud with amazing technique and classic style. Then it was time for the adult divisions. These athletes proved they trained hard and came prepared to win!!! Marcus Almeida Buchecha became the back to back advanced absolute GI winner taking the cash home for the second year!!! Thank you to the referees, volunteers and everyone who came out for making this spectacular event happen. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next event. Ossss!!!

    The Jupiter Jiu Jitsu Fight Team lead by coach Tim Bruce traveled to Brazilian Top Team Melbourne, FL. for the honor of being on the mat with and learning from BJJ & MMA legend Murilo Bustamante.

    It was an amazing experience to be allowed access to the vast fighting knowledge that is Murilo Bustamante. A true master and legend Murilo was extraordinarily accommodating showing positions relevant to the level of accomplishment exhibited by attendees. As Murilo interacted with everyone in attendance he broke positions down to their core. His ability to explain and demonstrate positions promoted understanding and the ability to execute positions flawlessly. Throughout the seminar there was no shortage of black belts on the mat to make sure everyone was on the same page. Our host Edgar Dutra was joined by Joao Amaral, Beto Nunes, Pedro Lima and Tim Bruce. If Murilo is due to be in your area anytime in the future do not miss the opportunity, his MMA and BJJ knowledge can help anyone at any level become better!!!
